Contested · The generations between ʿAdnān and Ismāʿīl are not authentically preserved. The Prophet ﷺ traced his lineage to ʿAdnān and discouraged going beyond it; that ʿAdnān descends from Ismāʿīl is agreed, but the intervening names are not.
